Why doesn't my account work?
The most frequent problem is that you do not have a password set. When your account is generated, we use your eID for the username, but we cannot synchronize passwords with CNS or Engineering. Therefore, all new accounts have blank (empty) passwords. The first time you log in, you will not put anything in the password blank, and the system will ask you to enter a new password (twice), and enter the old password. The old password is blank (empty).
Another potential problem arises when the PCs are freshly re-imaged. The default login domain is set to the local PC, not the MNE domain. To fix this, choose "options" on the login screen, then change the "logon to" from the local machine to MNE.
If the machine still returns an invalid password error, you may have forgotten your password, or you may have been missed in the account generation cycle (this happens when you enroll late or transfer within the semester).
If the error mentions not finding the domain controller, the problem is most likely a network problem, in which case you would contact the administrator (admin@mne.ksu.edu).
