K-State, Mechanical Engineering, listed in 2009 Princeton Review

K-State students ranked Mechanical Engineering as one of the top three most popular majors in the "2009 Best Colleges" Princeton Review.

The Princeton Review "2009 Best Colleges" issue was released July 29, 2008. The survey asks 120,000 students at 368 colleges to rate their schools on various topics related to their campus experience.  K-State students participated in this year’s survey and ranked Mechanical Engineering as one of the top three most popular majors. Others selected were Animal Sciences and Journalism.

Within the campus life categories, a university must rank in the top 20 in order to be listed in the review. K-State as a university received two top rankings this year. K-State placed 19th in "Town-Gown Relationships are Great." This category asks students to rank their university on how well students get along with members of the local community. K-State stands out as the second largest university ranked in this category shared with several small colleges.

In addition, K-State is ranked 20th as a "Jock School." This selection is based on a combination of survey questions concerning intercollegiate and intramural sports and the popularity of the Greek system. Other universities listed as popular Jock Schools are the University of Tennessee, Texas A&M and Duke University.
