Hosni receives the Presidential Award
Department head earns prestigous award in engineering.
Hosni has been head of the department of mechanical and nuclear
engineering since 2001. He previously served, since 1993, as director
of K-State's Institute for Environmental Research. Hosni has been
recognized for his teaching, research and service. A Fellow of the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers and of the American Society of
Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, he has received
the Myers-Alford Teaching Excellence Award and the Research Excellence
Award. He also received the 2003 American Society of Heating,
Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Distinguished Service
Award and was named a Distinguished Fellow of the Mississippi State
University Bagley College of Engineering. A K-State faculty member
since 1991, he was promoted to associate professor in 1994 and to full
professor in 1999. Hosni earned a bachelor's mechanical engineering
from Southern University; a master's in mechanical engineering from
Louisiana State University; and a doctorate in mechanical engineering
from Mississippi State University.
