Courses Taught:
- NE 612 - Principles of Radiation Detection: The course covers the basics of radiation detector design and operation, including gas-filled detectors, scintillation detectors and semiconductor detectors. Students gain experience with NIM equipment and various types of charged particle, gamma ray and neutron detectors. Students also gain experience with standard reporting methods, including technical reports and oral presentations.
- NE 648 - Nuclear Reactor Laboratory: The course covers basic laboratory methods designed to understand the physics and operation of nuclear reactors.
- NE 761 - Radiation Measurement Systems: The course covers, in detail, gas-filled and scintillation detector materials and operation, including gas detector design, photo-multipliers, and organic and inorganic scintillators.
- NE 860 - Semiconductor Radiation Detectors: The course covers, in detail, solid state physics pertaining to semiconductors, detector design, semiconductor detector fabrication methods, and detector operation and characterization.
