The file you will receive is a compressed file.  Perform the following steps:

1. Create a Franc2DL directory.

2. Put the franc2dl.Z file in that directory.

3. In that directory, type "uncompress franc2dl.Z".
   
4. To run Franc2DL, go to the Franc2DL directory and type franc2dl.  You will
   be prompted for the path to a problem file (ie., "..\examples\example_1.inp").
