You must be running Windows 95 or Windows NT to run this version Casca. The file you have are self-extracting files. Perform the following steps: 1. Create a Casca directory. 2. Put the cas.exe file in that directory. 3. In File Manager (Explorer for 95) double click on the cas.exe file. This will create a casca.exe file that is the executable. 4. To run Casca, start a command (DOS) window. Go to the Casca directory and type casca. Answer "s" in response to the question about window size. Alternately you may just double click on the casca.exe file. To continue, follow the user's manual instructions. 5. In the latest version, you can read the casca mesh file directly into FRANC2DL if there is only one layer. If you have more than one layer, the translator must be used to merge the files for each layer. The translator must be run from a command (DOS) window. Rename the translator casca_franc.exe. Type this name to run it. Reply to the prompts. Franc2DL will expect you to name the output file with a *.inp extension.
