Presently Geocrack3D runs on NT.  Geocrack2D runs on Sun workstations (Solaris and Sun OS 4.1.3), Windows 95/NT, and Dec Alpha workstations (send email to request this version).  Geocrack2D requires an initial mesh. We have developed some generators that create a repeating pattern of rock blocks and joints, a more general generator, GenMesh (Windows 95/NT), and a translator from a completely general finite element mesh generator called Casca. You can download these below.

The software is distributed freely.  However, we appreciate knowing the names and organizations of people who download the softare. We will use this list both to keep you updated on significant upgrades and also to report to our research sponsors. Please send email if you have problems getting the software to swenson@ksu.edu. Also, please send feedback on any bugs/requests for new features.

Please reference Geocrack2D in any papers as "Geocrack2D: A Coupled Fluid Flow/Heat Transfer/Rock Deformation Program for Analysis of Fluid Flow in Jointed Rock," written by Daniel Swenson, et al., Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA, 66506, swenson@ksu.edu, http://www.mne.ksu.edu/~geocrack.
