Abstract

An algorithm for solving faulted power systems based on Householder's work on matrix methods is presented. The formulas for open and short circuits between two nodes are used to simulate connections among the sequence networks and to obtain expressions for voltages in the faulted system. Several features of the interactive computer program, written in FORTRAN for use with personal computers, are discussed. Also, the present limitations of the algorithm are considered and suggestions are made for its enhancement.
